APRILIA RS 660 TROFEO 2024 SEASON

APRILIA RS 660 TROFEO 2024 SEASON

The single-brand championship dedicated to the new Aprilia RS 660 is born, one of the most anticipated motorcycles of recent years. This is the Aprilia Racing RS 660 Trophy.

The idea of the RS 660 Trophy comes from the simple observation that the new twin-cylinder has been able to revolutionize the concept of sportiness. Light and effective through the corners, while being designed for daily street use. The new RS 660 is capable of transforming itself with just a few modifications into an extremely fast and fun motorcycle on the racetrack.

Positive experience was gained a year ago with the Aprilia Sport Production project, born to bring very young riders aged 11 and up onto the track aboard the "small" RS 250 SP. So, Aprilia Racing, together with the Italian Motorcycle Federation, has organized what can be defined as the second important piece of the reborn Aprilia "School of Champions".

"The idea of this Trophy was born naturally," confirms Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, "as soon as we realized how the new RS 660 is not only beautiful to look at but also to ride. It is a motorcycle with excellent dynamic balance, and at Aprilia Racing we decided to take advantage of it and immediately transfer it into a track competition that fits perfectly with our commitment to bring young talent to the highest levels of motorsport."

How the RS 660 Trophy works

The Aprilia RS 660 Trophy is structured as a single-brand championship, where all riders compete on identical motorcycles, allowing the rider's skill and technique to truly make the difference. The technical preparation of the bikes follows a strict standard set by Aprilia Racing, with limited modifications allowed.

The championship season includes several rounds held at some of the most iconic Italian circuits, including Mugello, Misano, Vallelunga, and Imola. Each round consists of qualifying sessions and races, with points awarded according to the final classification.

Who can participate

The RS 660 Trophy is open to riders holding a current FMI (Italian Motorcycle Federation) racing license. The championship is open to riders of all ages and skill levels, from young talents looking to gain experience to amateur riders who want to compete in a serious yet accessible context.

The bike: Aprilia RS 660

The Aprilia RS 660 is the bike at the heart of this championship. With its 660cc parallel twin-cylinder engine delivering around 100 HP, lightweight chassis, and advanced electronics, it represents the perfect balance between performance and accessibility. Its electronic package includes multiple riding modes, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and quick-shifter, making it both fast and forgiving on track.

Prize pool and benefits

Participants in the RS 660 Trophy benefit from a substantial prize pool, plus the opportunity to be noticed by Aprilia Racing scouts and gain access to higher-level championships. The winners of the previous editions have already shown that this is a launching pad for a serious racing career.

Conclusions

The Aprilia RS 660 Trophy represents an excellent opportunity for those who want to start racing or for those who want to improve their riding skills in a competitive context. With the right mix of accessibility, performance, and Aprilia Racing's support, this championship is one of the most interesting in the Italian motorcycle racing landscape.
